Early Childhood Education

Through the Group Child Care Essentials certificate provided by Northwood Technical College, students gain a better understanding of the knowledge and skills required of a childcare teacher. Completers of this certificate will meet the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families licensing guidelines for teachers in group childcare centers and will be recognized as Wisconsin Registry Career Level 7. Students who complete this certificate program can work as a Lead Teacher or an Assistant Teacher.

 

Construction Foundations

Construction Foundations is a short-term training which includes classroom and hands-on learning. Curriculum includes Math for the Trades; Print Reading, Construction Basics, and Layout Design; OSHA Safety 10 training; and CPR/AED/Basic First Aid. The hands-on training consists of building several projects which varies per cohort. Past projects students have built include a utility shed, pergola, Adirondack chairs, and picnic tables. Upon completion of the program, students earn a Technical Certificate, OSHA 10 Certification, and enter the job market with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in a job in construction or related industries.

 

Machine Tool Basics

The Machine Tool Basics provides students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level job success in the manufacturing field. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of machining and print reading related to manufacturing. Program instruction for the Summer 2022 training is being provided by Northwood Technical College. Curriculum includes: Print Reading for Machine Trades, Machine Tool Applications, OSHA 10 General Industry for Machine Tool, and CPR/AED/Basic First Aid. Students who complete the training earn a certificate and able to apply industry-recognized safety practices and procedures in the workplace.
