Puzzle Pieces being put together

As part of the Northwest Wisconsin Workforce Investment Board's 2017-2020 Strategic Plan, we have begun initial involvement with Academic and Career Planning by attending last year's conference and connecting with area Cooperative Educational Service Agencies (CESAs). Academic and Career Planning (ACP) is a student-driven, adult-supported process in which students create and cultivate their own unique and information-based visions for post secondary success, obtained through self-exploration, career exploration, and the development of career management and planning skills. ACP requires that beginning in the 2017-18 school year, every school board ensures that it is providing academic and career planning services to pupils enrolled in grades 6 to 12 in the school district.” Through ACP, there is great potential to connect area students with employers in the region to help students (and parents) begin to see the job and training opportunities that exist in our own "back yard".
